Upcoming Auditions!

The SpongeBob Musical

Based on the series by Stephen Hillenburg; Book by Kyle Jarrow; Musical Production Conceived by Tina Landau

Directed by William Sanders

Music Directed by Nick Conti

Choreographed by Andrew Stewart

The stakes are higher than ever as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!

The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series but imaginatively costumed and set. This is NOT costume characters at Disney or Universal! With original songs by a diverse set of INCREDIBLE talent including Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton and additional music by Tom Kitt.

We are seeking a very diverse cast of ALL body types, ALL ages, ALL races and ethnicities, ALL gender identities, ALL sexualities, and ALL abilities. That’s what an ocean habitat looks like, that’s how our world is, and that’s the Bikini Bottom way! In regard to gender: feel free to audition for whatever character you embody the spirit of; don’t let the perceived gender of the cartoon get in the way!

We are also very interested in actors who play any instruments, even at a rudimentary level, or any other special skills. Please be sure to note that on your audition forms!
