To Kill a Mockingbird

april 8-23, 2005

By Christopher Sergel
Based on the novel by Harper Lee

A 1991 Library of Congress survey revealed Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel to be second only to the Bible as "the book most often cited in making a difference in people's lives." Lee's brilliant, multilayered story comes to life in a stellar adaptation. It's the summer of 1935 in a quiet southern town, and lawyer Atticus Finch must defend a black man wrongly accused in a grave crime. In the process, his children, Jem and Scout, learn something about justice, honor and hope.
