T
here's a name for you ladies, but it's not used in high society outside of a kennel."

With her rapier wit and a gift for scathing satire, Clare Boothe Luce established herself as a feminist Oscar Wilde for the Jazz Age. Her 1936 hit comedy caused a sensation, shattering the cozy myths of matrimony and serving up some of the century's juiciest roles for women -- "some of the most odious harpies ever collected in one play," according to Times reviewer Brooks Atkinson.
