H
ell has no fury like a woman scorned. Medea, a sorceress and the daughter of a king, has fallen madly in love with Jason -- so much so that she has betrayed her family, used her magic to help him steal the Golden Fleece, and fled to Greece as his bride.

SUBSCRIBE! But years later, Jason has grown weary of his wife and their two sons. To secure his political fortunes, he abandons Medea and proposes to marry the daughter of the King of Corinth. The betrayal leaves Medea crushed -- and she plots a revenge that will bring Jason's house and lineage crashing down around him.

Civic presents a shattering translation of this classic 2000-year-old tragedy, which spurred highly acclaimed and popular recent productions in New York and London. Full of passion and vicious emotion, Medea resonates with a potency and topicality that could easily have been ripped from today's headlines.
