2006-07 Resident Company


Caitlin McCown
A native of Beloit, Wis., Caitlin is happy to be joining the Resident Company for Civic Theatre's 2006-2007 season. Most recently, Caitlin worked as house manager and scenic designer for New Court Theatre in Beloit, where she also performed in shows such as Our Town, Godspell, A Rose for Remmie, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Biloxi Blues. Her scenic design work includes I Hate Hamlet, I Do! I Do!, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, and Imprints: The Beloit Ghost Stories Project. Caitlin recently graduated from Denison University with a bachelor of arts degree in theatre and cinema. Her Denison theatre credits include American Notes, James Joyce's The Dead, Taming of the Shrew, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Shape of Things, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. She also made her directing debut with a production of William Mastrosimone's Extremities and has since directed and produced Denison's production of The Vagina Monologues and a collection of short absurdist plays. She has done technical work for Raft of the Medusa, Approaching Zanzibar, Wonderful Town, and Hamlet, and choreographed the musical Company.



Noah Herman
Noah is a recent graduate of Muhlenberg College, where he concentrated in acting and directing. His Muhlenberg directorial credits include WASP, Ludlow Fair, and the mainstage production of Lebensraum, which performed and won top honors at the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival earlier this year. Noah was also awarded runner-up at the festival's directing competition for his reading of Ed Valentine's one-act Dangerous Baby. His acting credits include Summerfolk, The Collection, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre's production of George M!, on which he also served as assistant director. Noah is thrilled to be spending his first year at Civic and to be returning to Allentown, where he continues to perform with the local sketch and improvisational comedy group Fun with Eggs. In hometown Philadelphia, Noah is very involved in the theatre scene, serving on the Board of Directors of the critically acclaimed theatre company, 1812 Productions.



Jennifer Pors
Jennifer recently graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. At Alfred she played lead roles in A Doll's House, Metamorphoses, and The Prodigal Son. Jennifer was actively involved with the Alfredian Dramatists, and held leadership positions during the many fundraisers and special events. While at Alfred she was a member of the chamber singers, a small chamber choir. During her time with the Chamber Singers she sang at local schools, performed at fundraisers, and also toured in Peru. In the spring of 2005 Jennifer was asked to perform at a Master's Class at the ACDA Women's competition at Smith College. In the past she has served as artistic designer and properties manager for Fleetwood Youth Theatre Company. Jennifer is excited to have found such a wonderful opportunity and looks forward to the year ahead.



Sarahlynn Svoboda
Sarahlynn, a native Texan, graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor of fine arts degree in theatre performance. At Baylor she acted in a variety of roles and was on the staff of the 2005 Horton Foote American Playwrights Festival. She spent the past summer acting with Wilmington's Contemporary Stage Company, and she had the opportunity to study at the Eugene O'Neill National Theatre Institute in Connecticut in 2004. She has also worked with numerous theatre companies in Texas, such as Second Thought Theatre, Dallas Theatre Center, Dallas Children's Theatre and Dallas Ballet Center. Sarahlynn is excited to be joining the Civic Theatre family, and she's looking forward to the new experiences this year will bring!
