Based on the novel by Daniel Woodrell, Winter's Bone follows the journey of a young girl in search of her runaway father. For fear of being turned out into the Ozark woods, 17-year old Ree Dolly sets her sights on finding her father who put her family's house up for his bail bond and then disappeared. Through this journey, Ree fights through the lies and threats of her family as she risks her life to find the truth. The New Yorker says "Winter's Bone is what we've been waiting for: a work of art that grabs hold and won't let go."
