Taking great pride in its commitment to the developing Lehigh Valley community, Civic Theatre’s reach extends far beyond 19th Street.  The theatre has established partnering relationships with countless organizations, schools, and businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley and neighboring communities in order to provide comprehensive theatre and film experiences.

Turning Point
Each winter, Civic Theatre hosts an annual V-Day event that includes a performance of The Vagina Monologues.  The event has grown to involve over 50 community women each year, with proceeds from this one-night event donated to Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley.  Over the past five years, Civic’s V-Day event has raised over $25,000 to aid Turning Point in their fight against domestic violence.

City Arts Camp
Heading into its 9th year, this partnership between Civic Theatre, the Baum School of Art, Allentown Art Museum, Allentown Symphony Association, Community Music School, and Repertory Dance Theatre provides a comprehensive cultural summer camp in downtown Allentown.  The program has seen great growth over recent years and has expanded to incorporate 2 weeks of programming funded by The United Way that targets local at-risk elementary and middle schools.

Muhlenberg College
Civic Theatre partners with Muhlenberg College to bring professors to the theatre to host weekly film forums. These in depth discussions are held in the theatre following select films and are open to all audience members.  Information is available on the Movie Line at (610) 432-0888.

West End Alliance
Civic Theatre is actively involved in newly formed West End Alliance, a non-profit organization made up of local business leaders and merchants who are committed to revitalizing Allentown’s West End Theatre District.  The group is actively working with the City on various planning and revitalization projects.  In 2009, the group will host its first St. Patrick’s Day 5K Race and its 2nd Annual Oktoberfest.

Allentown Fire Department
Civic Theatre is proud to be the host of the Allentown Fire Department Awards Ceremony and Memorial Service each year during Fire Prevention Month, October.
