Arlene Daily
Managing Director
Arlene Daily joined Civic in 2008. She brings to the organization extensive non-profit leadership experience that comes from a two-decade career in community relations, marketing, board development, branding, fundraising, volunteer management, journalism and government relations. She has a BS in Business Management, and has been in leadership roles at several renowned non-profits. As Director of Public Affairs at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Arlene developed and implemented campaigns to strengthen the organization's brand image, create stronger ties to the community and increase attendance at events. She also worked at the headquarters of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in New York City as National Director of Public and Media Relations, directing the outreach work of the agency's 72 chapter offices, creating and teaching the agency's first communications training program for chapter Executive Directors, and was part of the team that developed and rolled out a nationwide strategic plan and a new logo and brand image. She was the Director of Community Relations for the local Planned Parenthood where she ran their separate political organization, from board development and fundraising to government relations and lobbying.
|
| But being passionate about non-profit work doesn't mean Arlene has no ties to theatre or film. A fan of the stage and screen since her youth, Arlene spent all of her non-school hours either on her school's stage or on a bus to New York to see independent films and live theatre. When she finally moved to New York City, she was a regular at Lincoln Center, the theatre district or the funky film houses of SoHo, Tribeca and the Village. |
|
As Civic Theatre's Managing Director, Arlene oversees the business side of Civic: fundraising, marketing, community relations, volunteers, box office, film programming, human resources and facilities.

Ryan Hill
Director of Marketing and Publicity
Ryan, a resident of Bethlehem, has been on Civic's staff since January of 2008. A graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Media Management, Ryan enjoyed a strange, yet rewarding, ten-year career in radio at stations in Cincinnati, Ithaca and here in the Lehigh Valley before coming to Civic. He currently volunteers at WDIY and is a sideline reporter/instant replay technician for RCN broadcasts of local sporting events. If that wasn't enough, Ryan is also a professional stand-up comedian who hosts and produces Tickle Me Tuesdays at the Allentown Brew Works and has performed at clubs in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Cincinnati. It was a student-run drama club at Ithaca that sparked Ryan's interest in theatre, so much so that he eventually became the president of the group, and he is thrilled to be carrying on his professional career in the same place where he acted in Cider House Rules and Vinegar Tom.
|
| As Civic's Director of Marketing and Publicity, Ryan develops and executes all press campaigns, schedules, designs and buys Civic's advertising, updates our website, and manages the sale of sponsorship ads in the Civic magazine, in our Playbills and on our screens when we are showing films. |
