19th Street Film Archive
Welcome to the 19th Street Film Archive, a comprehensive history of the 19th Street Film Series.
In 1992, the volunteer 19th Street Films Committee took over operation of the movies at Civic Theatre, and a non-profit film series was born. The series has operated continuously ever since, and is the Lehigh Valley's only consistent source of independent and international films.
The Archive provides one view of the history of an organization. It also serves as a sort of snapshot history of the independent film movement since 1992 -- just prior to the emergence of the "indie" as a cultural phenomenon.
