A Lehigh Valley Christmas Bummer Tent Records & Civic Theatre present the swan song of an eleven-year tradition PURCHASE TICKETS After 11 years of bringing great holiday music to the Lehigh Valley — the last nine of them here at Civic — Bummer Tent Records announced this year's concert will be their last Lehigh Valley Christmas in Concert. This year's edition, Sunday, Dec. 10, will be the final chance for Lehigh Valley music lovers to experience Civic and Bummer Tent's long-standing holiday tradition — a yuletide concert that features all your favorite area musicians performing their favorite holiday tunes. A Lehigh Valley Christmas began in September 1996 with the idea that the Lehigh Valley, with its rich multitude of musical talent could be showcased in one CD and the holidays would be the perfect time to bring people together and share in that holiday spirit. This holiday compilation CD, recorded and produced by Bummer Tent Records, features a wide diversity of musical styles. Now celebrating its 11th year, Bummer Tent and Civic team up once again to host this year's concert featuring all the performers who appeared on all the CDs over the years. The selections range from traditional holiday songs to obscure and eclectic tunes in a variety of musical genres. Bummer Tent extended invitations to a variety of artists who have appeared on the Lehigh Valley Christmas CDs over the past 10 years. This year's concert will feature some interesting and eclectic collaborations, including Fusion Jazz Trio, providing the perfect musical backdrop for jazz diva Roberta Meek; Jackie Tice is joined by her daughter Sage; and John Cree joins forces with multi-talented singer/songwriter Darlene Finelli. Other highlights include the raw blues sounds of The WilyGoats; sexy blues with The Girls featuring BC, Sarah Ayers and Lori Donovan; classical music by Two Part Invention; folk music by Dave Fry and Roger Latzgo; and Celtic music by Blackwater. And of course the evening would not be complete without the R&B funky sounds of Lucky 7, the classic rock sounds of This year the emcees will include Cunningham; Dennise Kowalczyk, the new executive director at WDIY 88.1 FM; Dave Fry, musician and founder of Godfrey Daniels; Mark McKenna, artistic director of Touchstone Theatre; and Berrisford Boothe, area artist and art professor at Lehigh University.
