Civic Theatre Accessibility Guide
NAVIGATION MENU
Civic Theatre makes every effort to provide programming that's accessible to all audiences. If you would like to request any additional services, please contact the staff at info@civictheatre.com or 610-433-8903, and we will do what we can to make you comfortable at Civic.

Wheelchair Accessibility Wheelchair Accessibility
Civic Theatre's auditorium and restrooms are now fully accessible. All facilities are on one floor, and selected restroom stalls are wheelchair accessible. The new annex facility across the street is also fully accessible.

Wheelchair and companion seating are available in both the mainstage theatre and the annex. Please request wheelchair seating when making reservations. Transfer seats are not available; however, if you prefer a standard theatre seat, we will be happy to arrange secure storage of your chair and/or early seating.

The primary wheelchair spaces in the main theatre are seat numbers M-19 (on the outside left aisle) and N-20 (on the outside right aisle). Their location is marked by an icon on our seating chart.

Barrier-free pick-up, drop-off and entry to the facility is available.
Hearing Assistance Hearing Assistance
Our FM-broadcast Hearing Assistance System was recalibrated in 2003. It works for both 19th Street films and Civic Theatre stage productions on the Mainstage. Headsets are available free of charge and are subject to availability. Identification (driver's license, credit card, etc.) must be provided to secure a headset and will be returned when you have finished with the equipment.

A Hearing Assistance System will be installed for productions in the Annex facility soon.
Sign Language Interpreted Performances Sign Language Interpreted Performances
Selected performances of all Mainstage productions are interpreted into American Sign Language. For more information, please contact ASL Coordinator Carole Silvoy, at VoiceSigns@aol.com.

Seats in the reserved section for ASL interpreted performances will be held until two weeks prior to the performance, at which point they will be made available to the general public. Ticket prices for the ASL section will be the same as the least expensive performance, regardless of the day of the performance.

Subtitled Films Subtitled Films
Many of the films played in Civic's 19th Street Film Series are foreign-language films, subtitled into English. The subtitling doubles as a sort of open captioning, and as a result, the film series has developed a following among the Deaf community. Subtitled films can be found on the Film Schedule.
Large Print Programs Large Print Programs

We are also happy to provide large-print versions of schedules and newsletters. Contact the staff to request this service: (610) 433-8903 or info@civictheatre.com
