Civic Theatre School Winter Session Goes Virtual

The health and safety of our theatre school students and staff are paramount to us at Civic. To that end, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will be transferring our wonderful Winter 2021 Session to online virtual classes beginning Saturday, January 9. This decision was not made lightly or cavalierly. In light of the recent restrictions required by the state of Pennsylvania, this decision is wise, prudent and responsible.

It is our fervent hope that down the line during the semester we will be able to transfer back to in person classes on site at Civic should the health status of the state improve.

There will be no change in the program offerings or the times the classes are offered.

Grades 1-8 will still have 1 hour of drama and 1 hour of movement on separate ZOOM sessions that will be set up by their instructors.

Grades 1-4: 9-11 am

Grades 5-8: 11:30 am-1:30 pm

Grades 9-12 will still have a 2 hour drama intensive. 11:30 am-1:30 pm

There is no change in the private/duet online voice classes. These voice sessions will be set up by the instructor with each family.

We still plan to have the students prepare a showcase to be delivered either via online or in person on March 20.

We are tremendously cognizant of and empathetic to the disappointment that our students who are already registered will experience upon receiving this news. We sincerely hope that they will stay registered. We understand that some may wish to unenroll and request a refund. Civic will honor that request should that be the case. Civic Theatre Box Office Manager Darlene Mozeko will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-3 to process any reimbursement requests or to process new registrations for the winter virtual experience (610-432-8943 ext. 202). You may also register online for the Winter 2021 session.

We are blessed with an exceptional CTS faculty who assures you that your children will experience a delightful winter session whether it is virtual or in person. Please contact Mrs. Basist at 610-554-6839 or if you have any questions or concerns about the Winter 2021 session.
